Full-Time Fire Fighter / EMT Employment Opportunity
The Barre City Fire Department is currently accepting applications for a Career Firefighter-EMT position. The Barre City Fire Department provides Fire and Emergency Medical Services to the City of Barre, Vermont. Barre is four square miles with approximately 9000 residents, with an average yearly call volume of 2,600 calls for service.
Applicants must have or include:
Minimum Requirements Include:
- Current Vermont or Pro-Board Firefighter I (II Preferred)
- Current Vermont or Nationally Registered EMT (AEMT or Paramedic Preferred) Applicants with EMT Certification will have up to one (1) year to obtain or be enrolled in an AEMT certification course, with tuition paid by the City.
- Hazardous Materials Operations
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must reside within 10 air miles of the Barre City Fire Station
Other valuable qualifications or certifications
- Fire and EMS experience
- Fire Apparatus Operator Certifications
- Emergency Services College Degree Programs
