A Message from Chief Doug Brent 
 
Greetings from Barre City Fire and EMS, I’m Douglas Brent, Emergency Management Director. It is our sworn duty as frontline first responders to try and find solutions to every problem we are presented with. However, managing during the pandemic has become brutally difficult and new responses are developing daily. It is our job to navigate toward the best possible outcome for our community and at the same time promote public health measures in public spaces. Often times these solutions are not popular but are always designed with protecting the health of the public. We try our hardest to remain in line with what the science is telling us via the Vermont Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control. When we don’t have an answer, we will work to get you one as simply and as quickly as possible through our statewide network of partners.
