Request a Report
Record requests to the Barre City Police Department must be submitted in writing utilizing the Records Request Form. The Barre City Police Department will review each request on an individual basis and in accordance with the Vermont Access to Public Records Act; Title 1, Chapter 5, Subchapter 3 of the Vermont Statutes annotated. The statute also includes specific exemptions for records from public inspection; set for in 1VSA317.

PAYMENT
Check or money order made payable to Barre City Police Department.
Cash is accepted for in-person requests.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Barre City Police Department cases are not always available for release. Reports will not be released under certain circumstances, including but not limited to:
- The case is an active and open investigation
- The report is considered confidential
- Autopsy reports will never be released
- Juvenile records
- Referrals to alternative prosecution programs
